Deception


He stood there, transfixed, as she walked towards him, almost gliding, wearing nothing but his gift – looking exquisite. The diamonds glinted, as if winking, teasing him into taking a step forward, into the forbidden. She smiled, a half smile, as if she could read his mind, hear all his racing thoughts.

“Hello”, she said in her deep throaty voice, somewhat coy. He smiled in response and raised his hand to caress her cheek. He leaned in for more, but the world went black as something heavy hit his head.

“Beauty is deceptive” was his last coherent thought before his vision drowned in the darkness.
